Simple Sentences
Definition: Simple sentences only have one independent clause
Example: I drink water.
Compound Sentences
Definition: Contains at least 2 independent clauses and joined by a semicolon or coordinating conjunction
Example: She made dinner and clean up.
Complex Sentences
Definition: Contains one subordinate clause and an independent clause
Example: I watched TV after I took a shower.
Compound-Complex Sentences
Definition: Contains at least 2 independent clauses and 1 subordinate clause
Example: I would have bought the drinks but it was too much to carry.
